Benghazi center branch:
Benghazi center branch inaugurated in 2002 to enhance the role of
the cen¬ter and to conduct all activities and goals entrusted to
fulfill along the eastern region of the Libyan coast. Research work,
scientific studies and activities are carried out at the branch
according to the research program approved by the center. In
addition, the branch responds promptly to any environmental
emergency event caused by sudden phenomena, which may occur along
the eastern part of the Libyan coast. Currently, the branch
con¬tains fish biology Lab, seaweed Lab, chemistry and marine
pollu¬tion Lab, and fish disease and mi-crobiology Lab. It also
contains a library and a museum exhibiting marine organisms.
