Benghazi center branch:

Benghazi center branch inaugurated in 2002 to enhance the role of the cen¬ter and to conduct all activities and goals entrusted to fulfill along the eastern region of the Libyan coast. Research work, scientific studies and activities are carried out at the branch according to the research program approved by the center. In addition, the branch responds promptly to any environmental emergency event caused by sudden phenomena, which may occur along the eastern part of the Libyan coast. Currently, the branch con¬tains fish biology Lab, seaweed Lab, chemistry and marine pollu¬tion Lab, and fish disease and mi-crobiology Lab. It also contains a library and a museum exhibiting marine organisms.


 

About MBRC

The Marine Biology Research Center was established in  September 1984, the Marine Fisheries Research Center merged with the Marine Biology Re­search Center (MBRC) of Tajura in or­der to unite and the capabilities the ex­pertise of both centers.
Since its establishment until now, the center had endeavoured to accomplish these goals.
